What Is Included in a Private Morocco Tour? Your Questions Answered
By Hassan Bouaouina, licensed guide and founder of Uniquely Morocco, guiding since 2004.

Quick answer
With Uniquely Morocco, the price of a private tour includes your hotels and riads with breakfast, a private air conditioned vehicle, a licensed English speaking guide who is also your driver, fuel, tolls, parking, transfers and the entrance fees to every monument on your itinerary. International flights, most lunches and dinners, tips and optional extras are not included. I always list exactly what is included in your quote.
Will my guide also be my driver?
Yes. This is the question I am asked most often. On my tours you have one licensed guide who also drives, from the airport on the first day to the airport on the last. On many of my tours that person is me. You are never handed from one company to another, and you always travel in the same vehicle with the same person, who knows your pace and your interests.
Inside the old cities, where cars cannot go, I walk with you through the medina. In a few places, such as the Sahara camp or a village walk, a local guide from that place may join us, because they know it best.
Is accommodation included?
Yes. Every night on the itinerary is included, in the riads, kasbahs, hotels and desert camps I propose. For each stop I usually send two or three choices, with photographs, so you can pick the style you prefer. If a property costs more than the one in your price, I tell you the difference before you decide, and you pay only that difference.
If you would like to use hotel reward points for some nights, that is fine. Tell me which nights and I will remove them from the price.
Which meals are included?
Breakfast is included every morning. Dinner is usually included in places where there is nowhere else to eat, such as the Sahara camp, Midelt, the Dades Valley or Ait Ben Haddou. In the cities, lunches and dinners are left free on purpose, so you can choose where to eat. I am always happy to recommend restaurants and to book them for you.
If you only eat two meals a day, or have dietary needs, tell me. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free meals are easy to arrange.
Are entrance fees included?
Yes. The entrance fees to the monuments, museums and gardens on your itinerary are included in the tour price. Only optional activities that you decide to add on the day, such as a boat trip in Essaouira or a dinner show in Marrakech, are extra. You can see typical fees in how many days in Fez.
What is not included
- International flights. I do not book flights, so book them yourself or with your travel agent, and I arrange your airport transfers at both ends.
- Visas, where your nationality needs one. I send a confirmation letter with your itinerary and hotels to support the application. See Morocco visa and entry requirements.
- Lunches and dinners that are not listed in your plan, and drinks.
- Tips. See tipping in Morocco.
- Travel insurance and personal expenses.
How do payment and booking work?
When you are happy with the plan, I send an invoice. You can pay a 50 percent deposit to confirm the booking and the balance 60 days before the tour starts, or pay in full if you prefer. The easiest and cheapest way is a bank transfer to my company account. Card payment is possible through PayPal, with a 7 percent transaction fee added.
International transfers usually take two to five working days to arrive, and I confirm by email as soon as the money reaches us. Our full terms are on the cancellation policy page.
Can we have time on our own?
Of course, and it is not rude to ask. I build free afternoons and free evenings into every plan, and on any day you can tell me you would like a few hours to yourselves. A good guide knows when to step back.
How much does a private tour cost?
It depends on the number of days, the season, the number of travelers and the level of the hotels. You can see starting prices on our pricing page and on each itinerary in tours and itineraries. Tell me your dates and I will send an exact price within 48 hours.
