Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions travelers ask me most about booking, private tours, hotels and travel in Morocco. If your question is not here, write to me and I will reply within 48 hours.

Booking and payment

How do I book a tour?

Choose a tour and send the booking form on its page, or ask for a custom plan. I reply within 48 hours with availability and a written quote, and nothing is charged until you confirm.

How much is the deposit?

A 50% deposit confirms your booking, and the balance is due 60 days before the tour starts. If you book less than 60 days ahead, the full amount is due at booking.

How can I pay?

Bank transfer is preferred because it keeps fees low for both of us. Card payments go through a PayPal invoice with a 7% transaction fee added.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancelling 30 days or more before the tour gives a full refund, 15 to 29 days gives 50%, and 7 to 14 days gives 25%. The full terms are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

How much do tours cost?

Every tour is private, so the price depends on the number of travelers, the accommodation level and the season. See how the pricing works.

Your tour

Are all tours private?

Yes. Every tour is only for you and your group, with your own vehicle and driver guide, and the route can be changed to suit your dates and interests.

Can you create a custom itinerary?

Yes, most of my trips are tailor made. Tell me your dates, group size and interests, and I will send a plan within 48 hours.

Who will guide us?

Your tour is led by an English speaking driver guide, and licensed local guides join you for the medina visits. I am a licensed national guide myself, so tell me if you would like me to guide your journey in person.

Which languages do you guide in?

I guide in English, French, Arabic, Russian and Spanish.

What vehicle will we travel in?

A clean, comfortable private vehicle suited to your group size, such as a 4×4 or a minivan.

Are entrance fees included?

Yes. Entrance fees to the monuments and sites on your itinerary are included in the tour price.

Where do tours start?

Most tours start in Fez, Marrakech, Casablanca or Tangier, at your hotel, the airport or the train station.

Hotels and meals

Where will we stay?

In charming riads, boutique hotels and kasbah hotels, plus a desert camp on Sahara tours. You can choose between three accommodation levels, from 4 star riads to 5 star luxury.

Which meals are included?

Breakfast every day, and dinner in the desert camp and at some rural stops. Each itinerary lists exactly what is included.

Can you cater for special diets?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and other dietary needs are arranged on request. Please tell me when you book.

Is the desert camp comfortable?

You sleep in a private tent, and the luxury camps have en suite bathrooms. Desert nights are cold in winter, so I choose heated tents in the cooler months.

Travel in Morocco

Is Morocco safe?
